Happiness and Finger Paint

Good Day Friends!

I am really sorry for my absence in the bloggin world of late and to make a VERY long story short it has been a difficult winter this year with many challenges for me. 

However, I am learning to keep my head up and find my optimistic side again!

I made this for a YW Lesson a while back and I thought I would share it here too, this quote has made ALL the difference for me and I am really striving to live by it!

In other news, I have opened a dayhome (or home daycare as my state side friends say). It's been an interesting journey! Little kids are so funny!

I have started looking for more fun things to do with them, so if you have any tips, please pass em on! 

In the meantime, we have run out of kids paint. That stuff can get kind of exspensive, so I decided to make some myself and came across this tutorial by Easie Peasie, over at Squish Preschool Ideas facebook.

 If you have little kids, this site is Pure Awesome Sauce!

Anywho, I will keep you posted on how this goes down! :) It could get messy! ;)

T Shirt Subway Art {A Tutorial|

If you know me, you know I LOVE Subway Art, 

you also know that I am never settled with "thinking inside the box". I am constantly thinking of new ways to reinvent  myself and stretch my creative talents...
I found this post incomplete and decided that well.....
Better Late than Never!

So here it goes....

I was in charge of the Camp Crafts for our Young Women Church camp this year. Naturally they brought up Subway Art, and I enthusiastically cried said YES! However as the date for Girls Camp grew near, I was really unsettled with having the girls do such a typical paint n mod podge kind of craft. Even though it was Subway Art. Then I met Megan. She too was in charge of the crafts and had thought Subway Art on a T Shirt would be just so cool. Icouldn't agree more!

I tweaked my Subway Art to go to a surface it has never gone before...  

AND I LOVED THE RESULTS!

Busy as a Bee!

Well it has been way too long since I have blogged about anything! Life has been kinda nuts through Christmas, as I am sure it was for you too...
Firstly, the snow! Here in Edmonton, and well, throughout Alberta there has been a huge amount of snowfall in the last few weeks. So much in fact that it stranded me and my kids at my moms for an extra week, which doesn't seem that long right? I had already been there for 2 weeks though. Let's just say I was ready to come home!
I am as a busy as  bee these days, finishing up a lot of custom subway art, and getting some subway art ready for our young women's (church) group. Since I am a Young Women's advisor, I get to make a lot of cool crafts with them, the following picture being one. I am going to cut the 13th article of Faith, (also church related, see here for more info) out in vinyl in a subway art pattern I created, then we are going to paint and mod podge a canvas to place them on. When I get mine finished first, I will post it.. :)

Anywho, Valentines Day is coming, so I created this cute little treasury on etsy just for the occasion, it's called, I've got that lovin Feeling, go give it some love!

Other Big News, in which I am stoked about: I will be featured on Tatertots and Jello!!! So pumped. I will be sending in a tutorial on how to create a Valentine's Subway Art... It will be great! If you don't follow  Tatertots and Jello, you should. Jen is amazing and there is so much to learn and do on her site!

Honesty - Be true clear through... YW handout

Since, I have been in YW, and teaching lessons, I have discovered I love making YW handouts...

With the handout, I used this object lesson on mormon share. Along with the handout, I gave each girl a little tiny hershey's pure chocolate bar as a reminder to be true-clear through!
